Wasim Mohammed from Walsall recently received a personal injury amount of £11,100,000 after being left paralysed in a car accident in 2006. Mr Mohammed had a broken neck and damage to his spinal cord, which has left him with no movement in his legs, and limited movement in his arms. This is the highest amount of compensation ever received from a road traffic accident.
Mr Mohammed was a passenger in a car which attempted to overtake at a junction and collided into a vehicle turning right. The driver was convicted of careless driving, and Mr Mohammed used personal injury lawyers to claim compensation.
The case was settled out of court, but was due to be heard at Birmingham County Court.
